Hi,
I have carefully looked into the MITRES_LL_003IAP11_lec02.pdf slides and have some questions regarding the absolute numbers in the equation,

1) In slide 14 it is mentioned that the Half Power Bandwidth (HPBW) is calculated: HPBW = 58°λ/Diameter (=of the can). Where does the 58 degres comes from?

2) In slide 20: TE11 mode cutoff wavelength λc in circular waveguide is calculated by the formula: λc= 1.705*Diameter. Where does the 1.705 comes from?

3) accordind to those calculation, when I have a can of Diameter= 7.9 cm then I need to drill a hole at about 8 cm away from the backwall in order to get the optimum power of the 2.4 Ghz.

am I correct?
Thanks
